Mitchell's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

Harold Mitchell

37-year old center Harold Mitchell (200-C-83) had a very impressive game in the last round for Siquirres and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Perez Zeledon (#6, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 87-77. Siquirres maintains the 3rd position in Costa Rican league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Siquirres will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Mitchell had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Siquirres' top player in his first season with the team.

Second best performed player last round was Jermiaine Acon. He is a in his first season at Siquirres. In the last game Acon recorded impressive 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course together with Mitchell he helped Siquirres with another comfortable win 86-73 over slightly lower-ranked Alajuela (#5, 2-3) being unquestionably team leader. Siquirres' 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 3-1 record is not bad at all. Acon is a newcomer at Siquirres and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.0ppg (#9). He also registered 4.8 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Isaac Conejo (182-PG-94) of league's leader ARBA. Conejo showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the last round. He was a key player of ARBA, leading his team to a 63-60 win against #2 ranked Escazu in a game of the week. ARBA started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game. Conejo turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Conejo has a great season in Costa Rica. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.3ppg (4th best), rebounds with 8.0rpg (3rd best) and assists with 6.3apg (best passer).
